Prof. Gail S. Goodman, the Distinguished Professor of Psychology and Director of the Center for Public Policy Research is a professor at the University of California Davis. Her name is associated with the start of the modern study of the memory of children's eyewitnesses as well as the role of children as victims in court contexts. Professor Goodman is an prolific writer who has received numerous prizes and grants. She has advised numerous government agencies and governments around the world about policies as well as research related to the treatment of child victims by the justice system. She serves as a consultant for the Special Assault Forensic Evaluation Center and was previously known as the Multidisciplinary Interview Center of Sacramento County Child Protective Services. She has been a member of various professional associations, such as that of Association for Psychological Science and American Psychological Association. (Divisions Experimental Psychology and Developmental Psychology Society for Child and Family Policy and Practice American Psychology Law Society Psychology of Women and Traumatic Stress 56) Professor Goodman is also a member of Psychonomics Society, American Professional Society for the Abuse of Children and International Society for Traumatic Stress Studies. The American Psychological Association's Developmental Psychology Division as well as Division American Psychology Law Society and Division Society for Child and Family Policies and Practice.
